Galaxies. Nebulae. Black holes. The universe has all these things and much more. Learn about our solar system and beyond in two Astronomy classes offered this summer at the Blountville campus.
Astronomy I, lecture and lab, is being offered Tuesday evenings, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Wade Powers Bldg., Room B113. Astronomy II, lecture and lab, is offered Wednesday evenings, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Powers Bldg., B113.
Summer classes offer students a great way to earn credit hours, fast-track their certificate or degree paths, or simply learn more about a new subject. First- and full-term summer classes begin on June 1.
Students enrolling in Astronomy should have completed all required math learning support courses and READ 0870 or posted appropriate entrance scores in testing.
These two courses earn four credit hours. This link provides more information about the content for both courses. Both courses are transferable and meet the Tennessee Board of Regents/Northeast State’s General Education Core requirements.
