Northeast State Health Services will sponsor a two-evening workshop designed for women and girls (ages 13 and up) who are a size 12 and above.
The workshop – entitled “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now, Let’s Do This!” – is scheduled on April 2 and April 9 at 7 p.m. in the Basler Library (Room L106) on the Blountville campus, 2425 Highway 75. The workshop is free.
The workshop will be conducted by Joya Cannon, a local minister and consultant for The Positive Passionate Plus. She specializes in women’s behavioral issues and challenges that may be of interest to plus-sized women and girls. Cannon is also an adjunct faculty member of Northeast State’s Behavioral and Social Sciences Department.
Cannon said the workshop will challenge the stereotypes and preconceived notions about plus-sized women and girls, providing confidence-building and style tips.
