Northeast State has been named a 2012 Military Friendly School for the third consecutive year. The designation made by www.militaryfriendlyschools.com researches 8,000 colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide to determine the best academic opportunities, value, and receptiveness to military veterans.
“It is an honor and very rewarding to welcome our veterans back to college at Northeast State,” said Billy Benton, Northeast State registrar.
Northeast State is among the top 20 percent of all colleges and universities surveyed across the United States to receive the Military Friendly School designation. Military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan are using this college search tool to filter schools that value military experience. More than 200 recently discharged veterans were enrolled at Northeast State last spring.
